2010 so far…

So, how is your 2010 so far?  Ours has been pretty good.  Josh and I rang in the New Year with the ball dropping New York time Thursday night and then we headed to bed.  Friday (New Year’s Day) was spent relaxing with a yummy pancake breakfast and then we headed over to Wing’s for lunch and to enjoy watching Auburn play in the Outback Bowl.  I have to admit that it was not the best played game but it was definitely a fun one to watch.  The rest of New Year’s Day was spent taking naps and enjoying our black-eyed peas for dinner.  Nice, calm, and relaxing…  just how it should be.

Saturday morning we headed up to the Opryland Hotel to celebrate our Engagement Day.  It is hard to believe that 7 years ago my best friend asked me to be his wife and helpmeet for life.  We had such a great time with the kids watching them enjoy all the decorations and lights.

We started out our trip by eating lunch at The Rainforest Cafe over at the Opry Mills mall

Emma Lee loved all the animals and fish in the restaurant gift shop.

After lunch, we headed over to the hotel to walk around and take in all the decorations…

Can you tell that Emma Lee was not feeling too well this particular afternoon?

I absolutely love this photo because it is taken by Nate (from his perspective).  All 3 of us were laughing at him while he posed us and stood there to say “Cheese”.  I only wish I would have had a photo of him taking the picture.  Priceless… and forever in my heart.  Bullet_Smiley_1

This was probably my favorite “new” decoration that they added this year.

Here we are under our gazebo where Josh proposed 7 years ago.

Here come the ice cream and milkshakes…

All smiles and as Caleb Davis would say “All Sugared Up!”

And of course, we had to take a Delta Riverboat tour around the hotel…

We had a great time in Nashville and we are already planning our next trip back this Spring for possibly a zoo trip (GASP!!!)  You all know how much I hate the zoo but I am going to try to be brave for my kids.  Bullet_Smiley_1

Yesterday (Sunday) was nice too.  We were able to spend the morning in worship followed by lunch and afternoon naps. (Do you sense a theme so far in 2010?)  Later that evening, I stayed home with this little snow bunny while Josh and the boys went back to church for deacon meetings and evening worship/bible study.

So there you have it…  Our 1st 3 days of 2010.  What have you been up too so far this year?
