Tackle It Wednesday – Hot Spots Cleared

Happy Wednesday!  Thanks for being patient with me during the holidays but I have some good news… 
Tackle It Wednesday is back!  So are you all ready to see the “big reveal” from my cluttered Hot Spots? 

Let’s take a little peek at the before shots again.  Here is the desk before…

and here is the family “communication center” in our kitchen…

Ahhh…  That feels so much better.  I know that I still have a little clutter situation going on over there in my Inbox (top right) but you have to admit that it looks so much better than before, right? 

And here comes that other Hot Spot…

Does it even look like the same place?     I even took some time to dust and update the photo in that frame.  I am so glad to have these 2 areas of our home “back” to their normal working function.  It is still so amazing to me what you can get accomplished in a good 15 minute – focused – power session.  It really only took me two 15 minute sessions on the desk and one 15 minute session on that counter.  Josh even got in the spirit and set the timer for 15 minutes while he tackled his Inbox basket there on the kitchen counter.  I am always so shocked at how much paper clutter we accumulate and most of that just needed to be put in the trash or filed away.  One of my “goals” this year is to conquer the terrible procrastination habit that I have with paper clutter once and for all.  Handle it once is my motto for 2010.

Ok, so are you all ready to see my next “Tackle It Wednesday” project?  Well in addition to decluttering and deep cleaning my kitchen this week, I will also be working on this…

The Blank Wall!

Now granted it is not really blank anymore because Josh did give me this lovely frame for my birthday last year (which I have yet to put pictures in).  I could come up with all kinds of excuses as to why this project is unfinished (extremely sick all Fall + I did not want to take time to decorate this house when I thought we were moving + etc…) but the main thing is that I have just not taken the time to finish this wall in our Master Bedroom like I would like. 

 

Oh and I will also work on getting rid of those 2 containers that I have not unpacked with Christmas gifts in them.  Check back next Wednesday for the results…
