Happy Wednesday!
This week is really getting away from me so I thought I better hop on here before it is too late. I have to admit that this week’s “Tackle It Wednesday” project is kind of a cheat because it is already done but I wanted to share it here on our blog none the less so here goes…
Summer Decorations
I have never really done much decorating in the summer but I do have a few things that I set out and this year I added a few new frames and photos to the decor. I put everything out Memorial Day weekend and I will leave them up until Labor Day in September so come to think about it, they really do stay out a good majority of the year. Of course we can start with the traditional American symbol…
We actually leave this one out all year long so I am not sure I should technically call it a summer decoration.
Here is the rest of our patriotic decor…
And some of you may remember this little arrangement that I did a few summers back. Well, I took down the pregnancy and newborn photos + decorations and updated it with some sand and surf…
Some families enjoy the mountains and as you can probably already tell, we love the beach! We usually go 2-3 times each year but due to Joy Lynn’s birth earlier this summer, we are just making 1 longer trip this year so I really hope all the oil mess going on down there does not ruin our trip.
And who says that trees and ornaments can only come out in December…
I love my little beach tree. So fun and colorful!
Well that’s about it for our summer decorations. I am still on the lookout for something fun and summery (is that a word?) to hang over the bar in our kitchen. I still have the gerber daisies from this Spring hanging up right now. Anyone got any ideas?
This photo was taken on my birthday last month. Josh + the kids got up super early that morning and decorated the entire house for me. How sweet was that!
And are you wondering what project I will be tackling this week?
Well besides my paper clutter issues that I posted about last week, I emptied out the 0-3 month clothes bin for Joy Lynn so this is what her crib (AKA – my sorting station) looks like at the moment…
As you may recall from just last week she was lying peacefully in her crib enjoying her mobile for the 1st time…
So I have got to get that little project finished up sometime soon. She is not sleeping in there right now (still in the newborn bassinet in our room) so it’s not like I kicked her out of her bed or anything. I also have a few other things that I would like to update in the girl’s room so maybe I will find what I am looking for to finish that up as well.

Here's to productive. Your summer decor is really nice. I love your built-in bookshelf and how you change it out from time to time. We recently went to Destin and it was beautiful (it was our second time) and I hear the beaches are OK so far...I hope you enjoy. Also, I love the 1,2,3 photos you have in Joy Lynn's room...how did you do that?
Simply beautiful, Jamie! I love how you decorate your house. As soon as I'm feeling better (hopefully just a few more weeks), I'd love to visit and catch up!
Very cool girl. I love all the beach stuff!
i just love the new beach niche in your corner shelves! the preggers stuff was adorable (all your ideas are) too, but i know how you feel about changing up once in awhile! :) the beach tree is so cute!
