Getting all “geared” up…

Well this is it!!  After 12 weeks of hard work and dedication, it looks like everything is all laid out and ready for the “big day” tomorrow…

180-edit

Josh is going to drive the course with me this evening and then we are going to load up on some yummy race day carbs for dinner.  After that it will be a early bedtime for me with maybe an episode or two of the Duggar show.  Tell me that I am not the only one that adores that show and I totally wish they were our neighbors.

I really thought that I would be super nervous or dreading the whole thing this week (remember, there are no competitive bones in my body) but I am really excited and looking forward to it.  We had our final Run for God meeting last night and everyone in the room was so excited and just really looking forward to having fun tomorrow as we all accomplish this goal together.

When I got home last night, I found these 2 sweet posters that my crew had made for me.  Can you tell that they are just as excited and ready for me to cross the finish line?

Oh and speaking of my cute little runners…

I have been terrible about updating and posting pictures on here but the 3 of them did soooo good at their 1st race the other day.  I cannot even begin to tell you how excited they were about “putting on their running shoes and going fast”.

Here they are before the race showing off their muscles…

The preschool boys went 1st and then the preschool girls took off behind them a few minutes later.  Josh ran with the boys (actually Caleb Davis took off and left his Dad and Nate) and I ran with Emma Lee.  I have some shots of Emma Lee running (from our camera) but I will have to get some of the boys from Mama June’s camera.

I cannot tell you how proud I was of Emma Lee.  She was by far one of the youngest ones out there but she did it.  She ran the entire mile all by herself.  She kept saying to herself…  “Run ELE run" or “Run fast ELE, You can do it.”  So stinkin’ cute!

She picked up quite a bit of speed at the finish line and even ran past it to grab her prize…

Some yummy, cold Gatorade.  The kids were also thrilled to get a fun shirt and ribbon for finishing the race.

Oh but we did not leave out Little Sister…

She was there with her “running shoes” on and cheering on her favorites from the sidelines…

This was such a fun afternoon and definitely something that we will try to do again next year.

If you think about it, please say a prayer for me (and the rest of our team) tomorrow morning. (8:00 am for the guys and 9:00 am for the girls)  I still cannot believe that I am actually going to run in my 1st race!!  I guess being 30 is doing funny things to me.  Ha!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!
