I cannot even begin to tell you how many times the kids and I have read this book together. This was always a favorite book of mine when I was little and it quickly became one of Caleb Davis’ favorites when he was about 2 years old while he visited Aunt Holli in Gordo one weekend. Nate and Emma Lee love it just as much and there is hardly a week that goes by that we are not chasing after the gingerbread man around our house. We actually have 2 versions of this book. The one pictured above is one that we have tucked away with our Christmas books and the one below is a super fun interactive one that we left Gordo with that particular weekend 3 years ago.
All that to say… Last week while Josh was away in Arizona, we kept ourselves busy one evening making our very own little gingerbread men or as Emma Lee liked to say… it was her Gingerbread Girl or her GranMama Bread. Here are a few photos of the fun…
And here is a look at the finished products…
And of course I had to make this sweet little thing one while she waited patiently for us to finish…
After all the decorating fun, we slipped them in the oven and I had 3 very hungry little foxes after dinner that night.
And that was the end of the Gingerbread Man… or was it?
