Anniversary Trip

Josh whisked me away for a few days to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary.  We had a great time in Baltimore and I was blessed to spend the past few days with these 2 cuties…

We have a ton more photos but I will not bore you with all of them.  Let’s just say that we had a great time in the Baltimore – DC area and we are looking forward to our next trip in about 7 weeks. 

Menu Monday

Here’s a look at what’s cooking in our kitchen this week…

• Monday – Poppy Seed Chicken, Rice, and Veggies
• Tuesday – Grill Out Hamburgers and Fries
• Wednesday – Hot Dogs and Chips
• Thursday – Tacos, Refried Beans, Salad, and Chips + Salsa
• Friday – Glazed Meatballs, Egg Noodles, Green Beans, and Salad
• Saturday – Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Chips, and Salad
• Sunday – Leftovers for Sunday Lunch. 

Whew!  Last week was a doozie but we had so much fun and this week promises to be even better.  Josh and I both taught Life Group and Sunday School classes yesterday.  Mission Friends is starting back up this week and we also have a Preschool Field Trip scheduled to visit the new Fire Department here in town.  On top of that, there will be more schooling, Running For God and a Life Group softball tournament thrown in there for fun. 

Oh and we also have lots of celebrating going on this week…

• Caleb Davis turns 63 Months Old.
• Josh and I celebrate 14 years of dating.
• Emma Lee turns 30 Months Old
• Joy Lynn turns 3 Months old. 

Poor Nate, he is left out of all the celebrating this week but he will get his turn toward the end of this month.

She rolled over last week!

We finished reading Charlotte’s Web last week.  After watching the movie, it was time for Caleb Davis and Nathan James to set up their own version of the show…

Ta – Da!

If you know the story, you will see that they both did a pretty good job getting all the characters and details correct.  This week we are going to begin reading “The Boxcar Children”. 

This is how she sleeps pretty much every night.  The room was pitch black dark when I went in to check on her and I knew that I better get a photo of this before she stops sleeping this way.

Joy Lynn is getting so BIG and filling up the bassinet almost completely.  She has been sleeping in her crib for the past 2 weeks and loves it!!  For some reason, she wanted to go to bed really early last week (like 6:30 pm) so we just laid her in her bassinet thinking she would wake up before too long and then we would swaddle and “officially” put her to bed but that never happened.  She just slept right on through the evening and then of course the little stinker was up at 3:00 am, instead of her normal 5:00 am breakfast.

Our 1st Day…

Well so far, so good.  Our 1st day of school has been going great.  Everyone woke up happy and excited to get the day started.  Like I said in my journal this afternoon, I could write a book about this 1st day experience but I will spare you all the details and just let you see some fun photos of our morning.

We had a full morning with devotions, enrichment, reading, bible lessons, story time, and math.

 

And with all the morning fun, I did lose 1 of my assistants along the way…

This was totally unplanned but for some reason Caleb Davis thought that now that he is in Kindergarten that he was supposed to prepare his own lunch, so I let him. 

 

And of course Nate had to jump in and do his too…

 

 

 

This was also unplanned but Josh joined us for lunch and brought me these little pretties…

Well that’s a little peek at our morning.  I was doing pretty good on the whole crying thing until I laid CD down for his rest.  Then I pretty much lost it then!!  But I am much better now!

Everyone is down for a nap right now.  We still have some read alouds + history to do this afternoon and then we will call it a day!
