Menu Monday + Weekend Review

Wait…  That was the title of our last post, wasn’t it?  Well just bare with me and hopefully I can come up something more exciting to post in the next few days.

Menu_Monday

  • Monday – Tacos (Beef + Chicken) + Refried Beans + Chips and Salsa
  • TuesdayPork Chop Rice Casserole + Cheesy Potatoes + Veggies + Rolls + Salad
  • Wednesday – Dinner with church friends.
  • ThursdayPoppy Seed Chicken + Rice + Steamed Veggies
  • FridayCheeseburger Macaroni + Veggies + Salad
  • Saturday – Not sure!
  • Sunday – Lunch with church friends.

It looks like a “mildly” busy week for us.  We have our regular weekly activities (school + church) and then you throw in a preschool playgroup, doctor’s appointment, a family gathering and well… I will be probably be pooped by the end of the week.

I can’t complain though!  I really do love my life and God has blessed us with more than we deserve.  Plus, I got to rest up with my little girls all day yesterday.  The house was mostly quiet while we cuddled and watched old movies and ice skating.

Oh and speaking of our weekend…  I know I sound like a broken record but where did that one go?

The kids all came down with runny noses and colds the latter part of this week.  The boys got over it quickly but it has lingered with the girls for a little bit longer.  Of course that meant that we had a milestone with Joy Lynn getting her 1st runny nose…

You can’t tell it from this photo but she was not feeling great most of the weekend.

Friday afternoon, we loaded up in the van and took the kids to see the house that we are looking into purchasing.  I just felt convicted that the babies needed to go scope it out and see if that was a place where they wanted to live and grow up.

Saturday morning was spent cleaning up around here and going grocery shopping.  It was such a beautiful day that the boys were able to play outside while the girls stayed inside and dealt with runny noses and colds.

Then on Saturday afternoon, our sweet friends came over and we put in an offer on the house that I mentioned earlier.  Believe it or not, I have been terrible at taking photos lately and so I do not have any of this house but I did manage to grab a few off Google Earth (seriously…  what did we do before the Internet?)

These photos are really not that great but it will give you an idea.  It is an older house but it is much bigger (more than double) our current home + it is much closer to church and friends + it has a basement + it has right at 1 acre for the kids to run around and explore + we could purchase this one and still be debt free (Thanks Dave!).  Oh and did I mention that there is a community pool close by?

We should know before the end of the week if everything is going to work out.  Josh and I are excited about the possibility but at the same time we are just waiting to see what God has in store for us and we will be content either way.

So that puts us at Sunday and I mentioned how the girls and I stayed home to recover from stuffy noses and coughs.  The boys on the other hand got up early and headed down to Gordo to celebrate and surprise Mama June who was being honored at church for her service of playing the organ for all these years.  Josh spoke for a few minutes (what you get for being the only sibling out of town – ha!) and then after the service they had a fellowship lunch.  Followed by a quick visit to play in Poppy’s barn and they were safely home by bedtime and ready to start a new week.

Well that’s a wrap up!  Hope you have a great last day of January!!
