Wow… It is so hard to believe that it has been 9 days since the arrival of our little Merry Layne. These have been some of the best days {and most tiring days} and when you throw all the fun Christmas festivities in there + family visiting + multiple weight checks + bilirubin labs + lactation consults, well you can all see why I have not taken the time to stop by here and update you with photos. I will try to do better. I promise!
I am just going to start at the beginning and share a few special moments from Merry Layne’s delivery…
9 centimeters and so ready to meet this little one…
And a 1st for me was using oxygen this time…
while I did all that pushing…
but it was so worth it because just look at this {not so little} blessing…
Love at first sight…
And thanks to our precious friend Brianna who was there to capture the special day for us.
We have made the list and checked it twice…
The bags are packed…
And now we are just playing a waiting game this weekend as we prepare for the arrival of our new little one. I am 7 days past the due date now (my record is 8 days) and if nothing happens this weekend then I will head to the hospital on Monday morning (10 days overdue) to meet this new little one. I am not so sure if it is the baby’s arrival or that we have 9 days until Christmas but there is definitely LOTS of excitement and silliness around our house these days.
And speaking of the baby’s arrival, here are a couple of pictures of the nursery…
I was really kind of hesitant to even show these photos because there is so much more that we want to do in this room but expecting Baby #5 + homeschooling + renovating the rest of our house has proved that we are kind of slow at getting things done this time around. But this is what the nursery looks like now at the time of Baby Bumble Bee’s arrival so I wanted to be sure to take some photos for his/her baby book.
So for now… just imagine some cute prints on the wall + a darling chandelier + a rug + some tiebacks for those curtains, ok?
Thanks for taking a peek and we hope to have some Baby News soon!!
Today we had our 1st Christmas party of the season. It was our Bright Lights preschool party and it is always a lot of fun because we are able to combine fun fellowship with an outreach opportunity to sing for the homebound members of our church during their Christmas luncheon. All that to say…
Caleb Davis loves to sing for others but he is also a very big “rule follower” so in his mind he graduated from Bright Lights this past spring so this party was all for the little ones. I felt like time had flashed before my eyes when I looked over and saw this during the performance…
He was such a proud Big Brother!!
And then when we got home I snapped a few more of him just because he looked like such a big handsome boy to me today. I mean where did my BABY go?
